Ahh thank you both very much. I'm new to the wildlife of this area so your help in identification is greatly appreciated. :)

It was an absolutely beautiful little snake. Didn't rattle at us, stayed very calm and let us come close enough to take some nice photos.

Great find but i think it is a Southern Pacific Rattlesnake. I love baby rattlesnakes!

The face & pattern are different from C. atrox, and also lacks black and white banding just before the rattle.
