Banded Coffee Snake

Ninia Maculata

Description:

Small, nocturnal snake which mainly feeds on earthworms, slugs and small insects. Very docile and will never attempt to bite. Usually when found, will freeze up and flatten it's body, staying that way until the danger is gone.

Habitat:

Usually in leaf litter and it's semi-burrowing. Can be found in many forests and parks. It's an urban dweller aswell. Can be found in empty lots and gardens; under trash, rocks and logs. Unfortunately many times killed out of fear that it might be poisonous, which it's not!
