Photo take at -40 ft on a coral reef this coral is about 30 cm diameter common in the area. Colonies are massive and corallites are usually single, sometimes forming short valleys of two or three dividing polyps, but never meandering or brain-like. It forms small domes with fleshy polyps and the calices or short series are irregular in outline.It is usually grey or greenish, with centres and walls of different colours.
Inhabit a wide range of shallow water environments, down to 20 meters.found from Florida all The Caribbean sea to north Brazil.
