"micro loofah" slime mold

Arcyria obvelata


An orangey brown clump of soft flaccid finger-shaped membranous and reticulated (Loofah-like) growth seen on dead wood. These are the fruiting bodies of this slime mold. Brown spores showered out of the clump when touched.

"micro-loofah" is not its common name but the best description for this slime mold. I have seen others with a black tip. Another reference:
