Flower Chafer

Description:

Green insect with rust coloured patches on the periphery of the dorsal surface. Flat body shape.Mid line striation visible prominently.

Habitat:

We were going to a remote village in West Bengal and had stopped about half an hour's drive away from the destination for a cup of tea. I explored the immediate area as tea was being brewed. This insect was taking some nourishment from the flowering weed growing on either side of the road just in front of the tea stall. Area is hilly, forested with some human habitation.
