found sprouting in compost. came from a pit/stone or nut the size of a cherry pit, but doesnt appear to be cherry. rather slow growing.
I want to know if i should bring it inside before winter comes.

I'm not sure what it is, but I'd bring it inside before winter comes. It looks like a frost would kill it.
