Very true, but you were right, they do have leaves of 3, with the middle leaf on a longer stem, just like raspberry.

Wow, well, American Raspberry is a far cry from poison ivy, that's for sure. :)

The leaves and stems of poison ivy are smooth compared to this and it does not have red stems. This is definitely a Rubus species, but may not be strigosus.
