Unidentified 'stick insect' with short antennae and some interesting white bars on its upper legs. It is the same species as in the previous nearby spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/130... Also known as 'walking sticks', "[t]heir natural camouflage can make them extremely difficult to spot. Phasmatodea can be found all over the world in warmer zones, especially the tropics and subtropics. The greatest diversity is found in Southeast Asia and South America, followed by Australia. Phasmids also have a considerable presence in the continental United States, mainly in the Southeast." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phasmatodea... An article about this group appears here http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/an...
Spotted on vegetation along transect in secondary coastal lowland mixed freshwater swamp forest/sago swamp forest.

Well Thanks Carol! You're too kind. I have a couple of good spots...
You are an amazing spotter. I am starring at it and still looks like a stick. I want one, but in my wooded area everything blends in. Great discovery. I love it!
