Hawksbill Sea Turtle

Eretmochelys imbricata

Description:

hatcling - one day old

Habitat:

sea, marine, reef

Notes:

critically endangered hawksbill sea turtle hatchling - as a new beachkeeper volunteer for Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire, I had the opportunity to to Klein Bonaire to monitor a hatched nest. Four hatclings were still in the nest and were dugged out to be released into the sea right on site. Amazing experience.
