Spicebush Swallowtail

Papilio troilus

Large butterfly sitting on a flower on the edge of a sandhill area in Florida. Black wings with yellow-white spots on edges and a light blue section towards the lower half of the wings.

Spicebush swallowtails tend to stick to plants in the laurel family - if none of those plants are available they may starve to death.
