European mantis

Mantis religiosa

Description:

set two set one http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/145... shows the black spot that is the identifying feature

Habitat:

This one was found downtown - species introduced accidentally in nursery stock in 1899(fitting since our town hails from that time period)

Notes:

I found this guy on the wall of my building and when he climbed onto my finger it was with the intensity of a drowning person. I finally coaxed him onto this pot of flowers as you can't teach tkd with a bug glued to your finger, no matter how cute!
