Natal Hinge-backed Tortoise

Kinixys natalensis

Description:

Considered to be rare, my guide and teacher had never seen this species before. Look similar to a small leopard tortoise, but has a hinge on the lower shell.

Habitat:

Found in the road in a thorn scrub area, we found two within 100m of each other.
