Description:

Small, diurnal (active during the day) orb weaver spider with a distinctive white and black, slightly spined, dorsal abdomen (the back). Ventral abdomen (underside) is dark and sharply angled. Legs are reddish brown. Males of this species are smaller than the females and have cylindrical abdomens with no spines.

Habitat:

Found crawling on the railing of a deck off of the house. Normal habitat is temperate forest.
