Empty pecan shell half

Description:

This shell half was sitting in the middle of a meadow on an old stump. There were no trees within several hundred feet, so it was clearly carried there by something.

Habitat:

Hello. I moved this from "other" to plants. I realize it is also listed as a sign of wildlife, however "other" is for organisms that cannot fit into the PN-used categories. Examples of "other" include but are not limited to starfish, snails, worms, squid, clams...If you knew this was deposited say by a rodent, then it could be grouped under mammals as a sign of wildlife. Since it is not known what put it there, I think plant is best since "other" cannot be used for unknown :-)
