A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Their shape and immobility points to the fact that they are some pupae, maybe some fly's. But I have no idea why the larvae would all gather on such exposed surfaces to pupate.
Myristica swamps.
Any help with the identification will be appreciated.

Yes...am quite mystified...but skins do stay stuck for a long time...see: https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/29...
No, unfortunately I couldn't.
Yeah, this seems to be really mysterious. I am not sure if shed off skins would stay stuck like this. There also seems to be a pattern in there, I mean they are in little clusters, liying side by side.
Wish this gets identified soon!
Very intriguing...have you revisited this place? I wonder what became of these...really open to predation I would think pupating like this. Perhaps these are cast off skins after moulting? ?? I saw some dragonfly exuviae on leaves .
Thank you Daniele. :)
Hi Rahul! I have relocated this spotting to the Arthropods category for you. I hope you get some help with ID!
