Cherry tomato/Paradižnik češnjevec

Solanum lycopersicum

Description:

Red, small tomatoes that are practically the same as the normal sized tomatoes, except that they are really small and that they grow in big quantities through all the season so you have loads to eat.

Habitat:

Garden.

Notes:

Wikipedia source says that it is believed that these tomatoes existed in Aztec Mexico, that they have been very popular in 19th century in Greece and later in USA. There is also an article that speaks of US president Richard Nixon dining a cherry tomato salad in 1971. I, personally, also love to eat them, because they taste a bit sweet, but also sour at the same time and especially love them adding to my "greek salad".
