Lontra canadensis
The North American river otter also known as the northern river otter or the common otter, is a semiaquatic mammal endemic to the North American continent, found in and along its waterways and coasts. An adult river otter can weigh between 5.0 and 14 kg (11 and 31 lb). The river otter is protected and insulated by a thick, water-repellent coat of fur. It is a member of the weasel family and is equally versatile in the water and on land.
Although commonly called a "river otter", the North American river otter is found in a wide variety of aquatic habitats, both freshwater and coastal marine, including lakes, rivers, inland wetlands, coastal shorelines and marshes, and estuaries. It can tolerate a great range of temperature and elevations. A river otter's main requirements are a steady food supply and easy access to a body of water. However, it is sensitive to pollution, and will disappear from tainted areas.

Kinsey, for adding a spotting to a mission, first you have to go to the missions page. Then, you choose the mission you want to participate, and click on it. When the mission's page opens, click on "Join this mission". Every time you post a spotting, the mission's name will appear in the right side of the page, you just have to click on its name, and your spotting will be added.
Thank you! I'll try to figure out how to do that!
This spotting should go in the global Captive Animals mission.
Welcome to Project Noah, KinseyTedford.
