Med-fly or Mediterranean fruit fly

Ceratitis capitata

Description:

I suddenly found this strange looking insect on the railings of our home in Nea Peramos, Attiki. It looked strange as if having some kind of parasite on it and it did not fly away but just turned around. Was afraid of "normal" flies. Can somebody, please, explain what it is?

Thank you for the comment. I found the information and I am quite sure that this is Medfly.

Might be Medfly - which is one of the world's most destructive pest insects
