White-Crowned Sparrow

Zonotrichia leucophrys

Description:

A White-crowned Sparrow perched on a Creosote branch.

Habitat:

In the mountains near my home, in the Chihuahuan desert. The area is primarily shrubby desert scattered with Creosote bushes, Ocotillos, and Lechuguillas.

Notes:

Spotted a small flock of White-Crowned Sparrow while I was hiking but was unable to get more photos since I had my dog with me. She tends to go where I am giving my attention so I took the best photo I could and carried on. The flock was small, about 6 or so birds. Very pretty sparrow.
