Lady Fern

Athyrium filix-femina

Description:

Many ferns will grow in a group in the shape of a circle. As they grow farther and farther outwards, the centers die away, leaving a ring of Ferns. This Fern is a native perennial upright fern that can reach 2-5 feet in height. The leaves are a bright green, with a fine-textured lacy appearance, and single fronds can measure up to 1’ wide and 3’ in length. This Fern is native to the continental US and Alaska.

Habitat:

In the wild, ferns can be found growing in meadows, open thickets, moist woods, and along stream beds. They also grow in the cracks of rocks.

Notes:

I am not sure what kind of fern this is. I think it is a Lady fern.
