Paropsisterna lignea
A beautiful striped leaf beetle about 12 mm long. The dark brown alternated with white stripes. The outer elytral margin appeared white and there were five dark stripes on each elytron - the first fusing with the second from the outer elytral margin and the third fusing with the fourth. The Pronotum was a pale brown with three back dots.
Spotted on a Mountain Ash sapling (Eucalyptus regnans) in alpine Victoria.
Larvae of these beetles live on eucalyptus leaves.
