Description:

Pumpkin is the name given to several species of cucurbits , edible fruit of the genus Cucurbita . Originating in America . The ancient Mexica gave the generic name Ayotl . are creeping or climbing plants , with branched tendrils. They simples.alternas , hairy or pubescent broad leaves lobed ; and amarillas.solitarias in the axils of the hojas.gamopetalas , pentamerous , with five petals and five sepals and unisexual flowers. The fruit is a fleshy berry mode fluff pulp , provided with many white or yellowish seeds; peel more or less thick, hard or brittle , green amarillenta.con or without prominent ribs .

Habitat:

Originally from Mesoamerica , I think is one of many plants that Mexico bring to the world. Today is a vegetable cultivated in many countries.

Notes:

It has multiple uses in Mexican cuisine, just to mention a very popular exquisite squash blossom quesadillas , rich and original blend of corn tortilla and cooked pumpkin flowers with chiles and tomatoes.
