Heart-leaved Philodendron

Philodendron Aerial Roots

Description:

I saw this plant next to my computer and asked my dad what are these brown things. He said "Look it Up". I went to Wikipedia and found out they are called Aerial Roots. Aerial roots are a physical adaptation used by the plants to attach itself to a tree or other plant. They also allow the plant to collect water and nutrients above the ground.

Habitat:

The plant lives in a pot on my desk next to the computer. It gets plenty of light from the near by windows and desk lamp.
