Eastern Oyster

Crassostrea virginica

Description:

A medium-sized misshapen bivalve native the Atlantic coast of North America. I spotted this one in the shallow water on a rocky beach. It may have just been the shell, but I don't know.

Habitat:

On a rocky shore during low tide.

Notes:

A little green patch of algae was growing on the shell.
