Branta canadensis
The Canada Goose is an interesting goose species. It has a black head and neck, white patches on the face, and a brown body. It can range from 75 cm - 110 cm long and 127 cm - 185 cm wingspan.
It is commonly found in arctic and temperate regions in North America. This one was found in Camilla Park in Mississauga, Ontario walking from land into a small river and swimming away probably on the look out for plants to get energy.
It is a primary consumer being at the 3rd level of the trophic levels following the sun and producers. If it is a primary consumer, it is a herbivorous animal so it only eats plants. In its food chain, it is commonly known to eat seaweed and grass that has excess energy from photosynthesis. Foxes, raccoons, and coyotes are some of the higher level consumers that are predators of the Canada goose.
