Habitat:

In a grassy area under electric lines cutting through the forest. Many passion flowers and many insects were present in the area

This is a female ... the males are much smaller and completely shiny black !

Thank you so much for letting me know! I was able to find a few images of the spider online, but they did not have an identification. I am so glad that bugguide was able to help.

Jocelyn, If you were looking on bugguide like I did, that probably explains why you couldn't ID it yourself. I combed through the spiders on there, but the few photos for this species on bugguide look totally different from my spotting. I submitted it to the site for ID and they already identified it! :)

I spent about thirty minutes trying to identify this little guy, with no luck. I thought that such unique markings would make it easy to find. Please let me know if anyone is able to identify this spider by commenting below. I am very curious.
