Original range thought to be at the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. Tree has showy flower and long cylindrical fruits. Seeds are flat and winged, typical for many of the Bignoniaceae.

Habitat:

Midwestern forests. Planted as an ornamental. This specimen near the Amtrak station in Jefferson City, MO, USA.
