sounded like an Anna's Hummingbird but has too much rufus in it.

Yes the two are hard to tell apart. Most experts would almost have to catch them and ID by tail feathers or catch the tail feathers in a photograph. But I haven't seen much listed for Rufous.
I agree, Allen's Hummingbird is sighted in that area right now as well as Anna's.
hard to tell, but my best guess is an allen's hummingbird, although it's possible that it could be a rufous hummingbird
