Pseudemys floridana peninsularis
There were tons of these turtles all over the river

No problem! I am always glad to clarify on an ID if you ever want it, and you're always welcome to email me too. I enjoy helping others and you see so much cool wildlife in FL, I'm glad you actually care about figuring out why something is a certain species! Spread the knowledge :)
Thank you for the clarification! I would have never thought these turtles were different species, but after you clarified the differences between them seem much more obvious.
Oops, I meant to comment on this after I made the suggestion. From left to right, 1st and 3rd are the species in the suggestion, 2nd and 4th are P. concinna. P. f. peninsularis only has the spots on the upper plastron. P. concinna has much larger spots with some markings below them on the plastron
Ashley, I can't seem to find a source clarifying the difference between Pseudemys floridana peninsularis and Pseudemys concinna floridana. Are they different species or perhaps is there some disagreement on naming/classification? I have had other members suggest Pseudemys concinna floridana on some of my spottings, but I figured since you are very knowledgeable in herpetology you could clarify the difference for me.
