Shirezu, your photo is just great - a male and female March fly !
if you don't mind me saying, I do think your reference (wiki link) is for the other March fly Family: Tabanidae and not for the one in your photo, which is from Family Bibionidae.
very confusing ! -Why can't they give it another common name and it's not even March !! :)
I am about to put-up my spotting of the same, from today....
