Mexican tree frog

Smilisca baudinii

Notes:

To some this may be a small thing, but for over two years living here this frog has been driving me a little crazy. It makes a sound like old men laughing (reminds me of the muppets) and I've never been able to find one. Until tonight. It was raining hard and in rubber boots and sundress (raining but far from cool) i headed out and stood there in silence until FINALLY I found one. Carried it back to the house in the hem of my dress. Still don't know what it is but will look it up shortly. This is what qualifies as excitement for me in the jungle.

That link for the sound didn't work for me, but this one does: http://www.californiaherps.com/noncal/mi...

Many thanks, I thought it might be. When I have looked for them before my mistake was looking down, should have been looking up!

The link I included with my suggestion has the call on it for you to listen to. And I would qualify this as very exciting!
