Sensitive Plant (touch-me-not)

Description:

Small thorny weedlike plant with a puffy purple flower. The leaves fold up after being touched. After the leaves fold up they look very threatening, appearing very sharp and red. They are very common around my neighborhood.

Habitat:

Grassy field in suburbs on the property of Mililani Middle School,

Notes:

This species is native to South and Central America. However it has spread and is now a pantropical weed (existing across the globe's tropics).
