This actually appears to be a prairie rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis) rather than a Western diamondback (Crotalus atrox). Note the rear tail segment is mostly solid black rather then the "coontail" pattern and the white rear eye stripe extends backwards rather than across the jawline. Cool find.
