Saw Scaled Viper Scientific classification Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Chordata Subphylum: Vertebrata Class: Reptilia Order: Squamata Suborder: Serpentes Family: Viperidae Subfamily: Viperinae Genus: Echis Species: E. carinatus Local Name: Phurse Avg length: 40 cm Max length: 80 cm Identification: Light brown body with white spots on back. Two wavy white lines run along the length. White underside with tiny brown spots. Head scales are smaller, a pale brown or white spear mark is present on the top. Large golden eyes with vertical black pupils. Scales have saw like keels on them. The tail is short.

Rocky area, grasslands
