We were walking along the Geology Trail between Yavapai Point and the south rim village when we encounted an elk family on the trail. These photos were taken with a telephoto zoom so we wouldn't disturb the elk as they grazed (unlike some of the other dummies that were trying to get as close as possible, grrrr!)

I know exactly what you mean about people who insist on "stalking" wildlife. Beautiful shots. I love the Grand canyon. Both rims.
