Common Checkered Whiptail

Description:

A medium sized slender lizard with distinct dorsal pattern and long tail. These whiptails are a unique all female lizard species that can reproduce through a process called parthenogenesis. They are very common and can be found throughout parts of Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona and Mexico.

Habitat:

This individual was found near a neighborhood park.
