Algal Fungi (Bread Mold)

Description:

Bread mold. A common mold that is a source of cortisone and other medications. All Algal fungi are microscopic. They lack the crosswalls in their hyphae, the mycelium is made of branched hollow tubes containing many nuclei. Last image is the same mold on a dog cookie.

Habitat:

Bread, fruits and vegetables.
