Thanks, AfriBats, I think it is better to limit the ID to the family, since the species are not obvious to determine from a photo. I'll do that.
True, but the vampire does not have that leaf on the nose. It is true that the quality of the pictures is not excellent, in fact, they are scans of ancient paper photos I took at the time, so the leaf is not very clearly visible. But I remember it is there, though. Also, the snout is longer.
Looks like a Vampire - Desmodus rotundus - They have those really long thumbs and it looks like bloody fecal material on the wall.
