Description:

The new seasons cicadas are coming out. These are large - 35mm - and green all over except for a few red eyes. When the cicada leaves this skin there is always a thread hanging out the back.

Habitat:

Eucalyptus trunk on suburban highway division.

Notes:

The Green Grocer begins to sound at 18.7 degrees C. It acts as a thermometer in summer. It has a life cycle based on 7 years. One of the loudest insects.
