Chilli padi

Capsicum frutescens

Description:

Smooth, moderate-sized, elliptical leaves and thin branches that are 30–120 cm long, characterize Capsicum frutescens plants. Consequently, in a hot climate, these plants reach their maximum growth.

Habitat:

This plant species was found in moderately moist soil, alongside another plant species; the Citrofortunella microcarpa (Calamansi). This organism was situated on residential grounds, specifically, in the backyard where sunlight dominantly shines

Notes:

Capsicum fruits are cultivated for a number of purposes, including fresh vegetables (hot and sweet peppers), spice (paprika, chili powder), food coloring and flavoring extraction, and retrieval of different compounds for medical or industrial applications (Ng et al., 2011).
