Leocarpus fragilis

Description:

STALK: short, or as long as the sporangium, weak, yellowish, translucent, rising from a membranous hypothallus....... a network of rigid, hyaline threads with flattened expansions at the axils, connected with angular, branching, and anastomosing, yellowish or brownish lime nodes. 2-4mm in size

Habitat:

Found on very wet moss and leaves , after a snap frost and snowfall was starting to melt.

Notes:

Starts off brown , then turns bright orange , before splitting open , into a network of strands to move.
