Description:

Black (male) with bluish tint, bright white wing patches in flight. Crest, and red eye.

Habitat:

Perching in dead tree in typical Sonoran Desert habitat: mesquite, saguaro cacti.

Notes:

Feeds on mistletoe berries and is responsible for much of the spread of that parasitic plant in desert habitat.
