Western Black-headed Snake

Tantilla planiceps

Description:

Found in my pool-probably looking for water. Feisty, active little snake. Kept it a couple days to show to my students, then let it go. Not sure it was eating the small insects I was trying to feed it.

Habitat:

Riverside county hills, Chaparral
