Brazilian Cottontail Rabbit

Sylvilagus brasiliensis

Description:

Slightly smaller than the common North American cottontail. The fur is similar, normally light brown mixed with gray in varying shades.

Habitat:

Quite widespread in the Amazon rainforest of SE Ecuador.

Notes:

The rare, seldom photographed "pocket rabbit." A constant companion until it outgrew the pocket :-)
