Alligator mississippiensis
1000th spotting! American Alligators are large and intimidating beasts. Their size ranges from 6-20ft (1-6m) and their weight varies from 200-1000lbs (90-450 kg). We have gators all year here in the Southeast. I found these two sunning on a moderately cool day (63F/17C).
