Blue jay

Cyanocitta cristata

Description:

Blue jays are corvids that get their name from the stunning blue plumage found on their back, wings and crown.

Notes:

I find Blue jays quite challenging to photograph as they, despite being so common in urban areas, are quite shy towards humans. This one was spotted on a roof and as I was standing on the inside behind glass I think it didn't see me.

Agree Ali, they are beautiful birds! I got lucky with the shot, being inside so he couldn't see me. Normally they are quite skittish towards humans (atleast in my experience).
