Giant Grasshopper

Description:

This huge (4") grasshopper was on a tree trunk and would keep moving to the backside of the tree when I tried photographing it.

Tom, I believe you are correct. This beauty does look like a species of Tropidacris. It closely resembles Tropidacris collaris:
