Spotting

Description:

this was the only bug I saw during a week of walking the trails and paths through forests in Cuba. I saw much evidence of their presence, holes in leaves, droppings etc. but only one bug ! And I was looking ! I saw a few spiders, many butterflies of just a few species, and several moths came in to the light at night. There were mosquitos in some parts of the forest, but not a one in the towns. No need for netting on the windows. I wonder if there was a law that insects couldn't be seen in the daylight hours !! it was really odd. Forest devoid of insects !

Habitat:

Dry tropical forest on the crest of a steep hill.
