Hairy Woodpecker (male)

Picoides villosus

Lifer!! Picoides villosus, the Hairy Woodpecker is a species very similar to its much smaller relative, Picoides pubescens, the Downy Woodpecker.

Eastern North America, Norway Spruce woods, and mixed deciduous.
