Hema, you're right. they are known as milkweed as well. I know the Tamil name for these - I used to play with them as a kid, until I got told-off! I alwys thought the stamens looked like a little crown..so pretty.

Attractive flowers but sap can irritate. It's used in Ayurvedic medicine in India
